Stream Walk
Petty Pool
Stomp, splash, crawl and slide in one of our most dynamic natural environments!
Ever looked down into a stream and wondered what it would be like to explore it? Well with our specialist knowledge and equipment, now you can. For those feeling extra adventurous, the experience can even begin with a classic abseil into the water.
We’ll be journeying along, in and around our local woodland stream that feeds into the Petty Pool lake – from which we get our name - by any means!
Ready to Grow Outdoors?
Stream Walk is packed with fun, exploration and adventure.
Participants get the chance to discover a unique natural environment shaped over thousands of years by water and erosion, while building confidence and overcoming personal challenges along the way.
Communication is key, as participants share discoveries, highlight tricky sections and
support their friends through the route.
Leadership skills naturally emerge as individuals take turns leading the way, reading the environment and making decisions as a group. Being immersed in nature also often leads to exciting discoveries and a deeper appreciation of the outdoors.
It’s always great to see participants start off a little cautious at the beginning, and by the end fully immersed – splashing through the water, laughing and exploring with real confidence.
Kit Requirements
- Participants should come prepared to get wet and muddy. We provide waterproofs and wellies, but we recommend wearing comfortable, quick-drying clothing underneath (avoid jeans or heavy fabrics as they stay wet and cold). A warm base layer is ideal, especially in
cooler weather. - Please bring a change of clothes, including socks for afterwards, as well as a towel and a plastic bag for wet items.
- Long hair should be tied back securely, and any valuables or items that must stay dry should be left safely stored.
