All activities are:

Safeguarding

Petty Pool and Venturewood is committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for all learners and visitors who access the site. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and we expect all staff, volunteers and stakeholders to work collaboratively to ensure the effective safeguarding of our learners and visitors, in line with our safeguarding policy.
We have created an environment, using a trauma informed approach, where learners and visiting children and young people feel safe and empowered to talk, knowing they will be listened to.

We follow set group ratios, all staff hold enhanced DBS checks, and we have a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) who is trained to manage disclosures and escalate concerns where needed.

Overnight Safeguarding

All participant cabins are fitted with alarm systems that notify staff if external doors are opened during the night.
We have a separate group leader cabin which sounds the alarm if participants cabin doors are opened during the night.
Group leaders and Venturewood staff remain on-site throughout residential stays, ensuring support is always available when needed.

Risk Assessments

Risk assessments have been carried out on all of our activities. We do not publish our risk assessments online due to them being dynamic documents that are regularly being updated. Risk assessments are available on request.
