Controlling your own descent on a fixed rope - that’s abseiling!
This is a great challenge but very achievable as we guide you through the whole process. From the top of our 10m platform, take a moment to enjoy the view before leaning back and beginning your descent using a friction device that gives you complete control of your speed.
Ready to grow outdoors?
You’ll be encouraged to keep your feet up and stay balanced as you make your way down.
You’ll also be attached to a separate safety rope, controlled by an instructor at all times for added reassurance. Once you reach the ground, take a moment to celebrate your achievement and ask yourself… what’s next?
Abseiling is a fantastic confidence-building activity, helping participants push beyond hesitation and discover what they’re capable of.
It also introduces a real-world skill used by climbers, cavers, and professionals in the emergency services and construction industries. Along the way, participants develop an understanding of equipment safety, personal responsibility and the importance of checking and trusting systems rather than relying on others alone.
The activity naturally encourages strong listening skills, focus and perseverance as participants follow instructions and support each other through the experience.
Kit Requirements
- Please wear well-fitting clothing and ensure long hair is tied back securely.
- All activities take place outdoors, so participants should be prepared for both sun and rain with appropriate protection for the conditions.
- We provide all specialist equipment, including helmets and harnesses.
