Bushcraft is all about learning practical outdoor skills and understanding how to work with nature. From building dens to lighting fires, this hands-on experience gives participants a real taste of outdoor survival skills in a safe and supported environment. We also bring things to life around the fire, cooking simple foods such as bread, popcorn and the occasional marshmallow - always a favourite!

Bushcraft encourages participants to think about how people lived before modern conveniences such as electricity, gas and running water – and how many communities around the world still live this way today.

Participants are challenged to build, light and safely maintain a fire, developing responsibility not only for themselves but for others around them. These activities require focus, teamwork and careful decision-making, especially when working around heat and flame.

The woodland environment is also full of opportunities to explore and observe wildlife, helping participants understand the importance of caring for natural spaces and acting sustainably so they can be enjoyed by future visitors.

Time spent in the woods – building, exploring and learning together supports wellbeing, resilience and social development. The fire circle often becomes a natural space to reflect, share achievements and celebrate success as a group.

Bushcraft offers a powerful mix of adventure, learning and connection with nature – helping participants gain skills they’ll never forget.

Kit Requirements

Bushcraft is an outdoor, all-weather activity, so participants should come prepared for all
conditions.

We recommend wearing warm, comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting a little dirty. Waterproof jackets and suitable outdoor footwear (such as trainers or walking boots) are strongly advised.
