Petty Pool

Set in 40 acres of Cheshire woodland, Venturewood at Petty Pool gives school groups the chance to step outside the classroom and experience learning in a completely different way.

Our residentials combine outdoor adventure with purposeful learning in a safe, supportive environment where young people can challenge themselves, develop new skills and build confidence through real experiences.

Every residential is planned around your school’s aims and can be tailored to support curriculum topics, classroom learning or wider personal development. Whether you’re looking to develop skills, improve communication, build resilience or explore environmental themes, we’ll create an outdoor education programme that meets your objectives.

Using adventurous activities and the natural environment, pupils learn through experience.

They solve problems, take responsibility, work together and reflect on their achievements, helping them develop skills and confidence that extend far beyond their residential.

Each activity gives young people the opportunity to recognise their strengths, celebrate their successes and see what they are capable of.

We welcome groups of up to 33 pupils and create bespoke programmes based around your aims and needs. All activities are fully risk assessed and regularly reviewed.

Facilities

Woodland setting

Our woodland setting provides a unique opportunity for young people to lean outdoors, discover the natural environment and understand the importance of caring for the world around them.

On-site accommodation

Our cosy log cabins sleep up to four people, with one that sleeps 5 and each includes an en-suite shower room. We also have a wheelchair-accessible cabin available.

Activity areas

Our site includes dedicated spaces for a wide range of outdoor activities, from problem-solving challenges and team-building tasks to climbing, stream walking and bushcraft activities. Our facilities allow groups to take on new challenges in a supportive environment all in one place.

Canteen

Our experienced on-site catering team prepares fresh, wholesome meals during your visit. We can tailor menus to meet dietary needs, including allergies, gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options.

First aid-trained staff

Your safety is our priority. All members of our team are first aid trained and are available to support your group throughout your visit.

24-hour support

A member of our team is on-hand throughout your stay to help with any questions, requests or support your group may need.

Equipment provided

We provide the specialist equipment needed for all the activities we deliver, allowing pupils to arrive ready to get involved. Our team will guide groups through each experience and ensure activities are suitable for the age and ability of the participants.
