Venturewood Outdoor Education Centre has once again achieved the AHOEC Gold Standard, recognising our commitment to high-quality outdoor education, learning and experiences.
We’ve done it again! We’re delighted to share that Venturewood has once again been awarded the AHOEC Gold Standard accreditation, following another rigorous inspection by the Association of Heads of Outdoor Education Centres (AHOEC).
The Gold Standard is AHOEC’s quality scheme for outdoor education providers and recognises excellence across safety, service and learning. It goes beyond the requirements of other industry standards, providing reassurance to schools, youth groups and other organisations choosing an outdoor education centre.
Quality outdoor education at Venturewood
At Venturewood, we believe outdoor education is about much more than simply taking part in activities. Our programmes are designed to give young people meaningful opportunities to learn, challenge themselves and develop skills that can be used both outdoors and in everyday life.
Through adventurous experiences in natural environments, participants can build confidence, independence, resilience, communication and teamwork, while experiencing the sense of achievement that comes from trying something new.
The AHOEC Gold Standard recognises the work that goes into creating these positive outdoor learning experiences, from the quality of our programmes and teaching to the care and professionalism of our team.
A huge well done to our team!
Achieving the Gold Standard again is a fantastic achievement and a reflection of the hard work and commitment of the whole Venturewood team.
We’re incredibly proud of everyone who helps deliver safe, inclusive and rewarding outdoor education experiences for the schools, groups and young people who visit us.
Alongside our AHOEC Gold Standard accreditation, Venturewood is also proud to hold AALA, LOtC Quality Badge and AAIAC AdventureMark accreditation.
Venturewood is part of Petty Pool Trust, a charity supporting young people and adults through education, personal development and community programmes.
